“The quality of your life depends on the seeds you water.”
~Thich Nhat Hanh
Sowing
Lately I have felt pigeonholed, stuck on a rigid path in life.
In retrospect I believe I chose this myself, and when I look around me it seems many others have done the same. It is easy to find solace in patterns of familiarity, I suppose. Particularly as we advance through adulthood, conscious changes to our everyday lives become more intimidating if not truly difficult to employ. Old dreams may become more and more distant, and new ones appear unobtainable. We slip into routine.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing though right?
I totally get that. Nevertheless, maybe it’s not for me. And if you’re here, maybe it’s not for you either. Or maybe you just want to see what happens. Either way, I am standing on the brink of major change… or perhaps I’m already falling into it.
I want to spend my life learning new things, acquiring new skills, having new experiences, seeing new places, and meeting all kinds of people from all over the world, and I want to pursue these items as I see fit. Moreover, I want to share my experience so that others may learn from my boons and mistakes in their own ventures.
Buddhist monk and philosopher Thich Nhat Hanh speaks of our minds having many different seeds. They represent parts of ourselves that can be watered, fostered and grown. I want to water as many of my seeds as I can and live life to it’s fullest. I want you to experience it with me.
Welcome to the garden, let’s sow our seeds.
